AVF+ Junior is a vertical farming system designed for crop research and innovation/creation of growing recipes for crops that grow in a vertical farm. Inside the Junior's climate cell the perfect conditions for crop growth are created by precise controll of growing variables like light, climate, irrigation and nutrients.
The AVF+ Junior is available in three models: Junior 15, Junior 30 and Junior Research Facility (45 m2 to 150 m2).

The AVF+ Junior is the ideal system for vertical farmers that want to research new crop growing recipes and enhance already existing recipes. It has been designed for testing the effects that growing variables like climate, light, irrigation and nutrient can have on the growth of crops. The system consist of one or more climate cells with multiple stacked growing positions. This allows the vertical farmer to efficiently perform multiple tests to determine the best combination of growing variables for a specific crop or run multiple crop test at once.
Operation of a Junior is simple and straight forward through its user interface, which lets you control the climate (temperature, humidity and CO2) per climate cell and Light, irrigation and nutrients per growing position.
Insight into growth and health of crops is of utmost importance when researching new crops, that’s why the Junior can be equipped with research essentials like time-lapse cameras, stomata cameras and photosynthesis measurement..

Inside the Junior's climate cell is where the real growing magic happens. Designed to control and maintain full climate conditions inside and keep unwanted agents outside, the climate cell offers the same perfect conditions for crop growth as the AVF+ Compact. Junior models come with single (Junior 15 & 30) or multiple climate cells (Junior Research Facility).
Inside the climate cell the climate variables for temperature, humidity, air flow and CO2 can all be controlled through the user interface, to create the perfect climate conditions for crop research.
The AVF+ Juniors are equipped with multiple growing positions that can be used for simultaneously researching different growing recipes. Per growing position the LED light, irrigation and nutrients can be controlled.
Creating seperate different climates can increase the speed at which a growing recipe is developed. The AVF+ Junior research facility is perfect for increasing the total research capacity and climate capacity.
Feature
Irrigation and nutrients provide the building blocks for strong and healthy growth. Timing, volume, and optimal water conditions are vital. Each Junior comes equipped with a dedicated water management unit that is controlled from the user interface and carefully doses nutrients at preset intervals.
Hydroponic irrigation has been proven to be one of the most effective and reliable techniques for supplying water to crops. The irrigation system controls irrigation interval, water volume and hydroponic principle for each growing position.
Mixed into day storage the temperature, EC and PH level are continuously monitered to maintan the correct nutrient levels. Each water management unit can be expanded to work with multiple nutrient recipes.
Feature
Light and light colour have a large influence on the growth of crops. For that reason we work together with renowned LED light suppliers, specialized for vertical farming and crop research. Standard each growing position is equipped with 6 dynamic light modules that allow control of light colour, light level and on/off timing. This gives you the power to create your own time-based light recipe for growth recipes.
The dynamic light module is adjustable on different light spectrums so you can precisely control the colour. Not sure which spectrum is best for your crops, we'll gladly help you find the optimal light fixture.
Next to light colour, the intensity or amount of light (μmol/s) that hits the crops surface lets crops grow faster. Adjustable intensities allow you to set the perfect intensity for each crop.
To further increase the effectiveness and uniformity of the LED lighting, all AVF+ Juniors are equipped with reflective surfaces that help get every bit of light towards the crops.

AVF+ Juniors come equipped with sensors for climate conditions (temperature, humidity, CO2 and airflow) to water conditions (PH, EC, O2 and water temperature), showing you exactly what you need to know.
With time-lapse camera footage you are able to quickly asses the growth process of any research project so you can study and compare different test results.
To further study the effect that research conditions have on crops, the AVF+ Juniors can be delivered with additional equipment like stomata cameras and photosynthesis measurement devices.
